Something to blog about
Okay, now I have something to blog about!
I've succumb to the craze and now started the Beekeeper's Quilt.
Starting with leftover sock yarn from my very first socks. So starting with these has special meaning to me.
Yarn: Froehlich Wolle "Special Blauband"
Color: Blue/Grey Shades
Completed: 7

2011 musings
Blogger, twitter, facebook, ravelry... who has times to update all these things all the time?!?!?! As you can see, my last post was last year. And before that, was even longer. I need to figure out a better way to update everything from one place...
Anyways, first thing for the year -- I taught myself to do some colorwork. First project was a double-knit swatch. Will probably gift this to my friend's little daughter so she can use it as a dolly blanket or something.
I was bolder after that, and went right into stranded colorwork, two-handed style (thanks to some great videos on http://www.philosopherswool.com/). AND to top it off, am doing it with my very first mittens! First mitten down in 1 week! Started the cuff of the second today...

Rhinebeck Hangover
Oh, the day after Rhinebeck hangover! I came home with some yummy stuff, but then kicked myself for some things I didn't get.
It was all so crowded and felt like I was in a rush to see everything!!! Next time I go, I really think I will do 2 days, and relax a bit. And oh, the traffic horror too!!! Will need to figure out something about that...
Anyways, I do have a renewed sense to knit again though, so I'm very ansy to get going again.
In my excited urgency to have some fabulousness to wear around at Rhinebeck, I was knitting all night... only finished one of my UFO's to wear (Fetching mitts) and after wearing it all day, one was too loose, wasn't thrilled about the colors, and I want to frog it. :( I LOVE the yarn though! (Mochi Plus) So warm and comfy!
I am itching to do the Big E or Stitches East now... ARGH why does it always come down to $$$$$!!!

I finally started adding my things to Ravelry! (username: kwongm138) What an awesome site -- it's just what the knitting community needed.
Having a hard time getting my photos up on that tho. Also, trying to figure out how it links everything up from my blog and automatically into Ravelry, without double posting...
What I'm currently work on:
1) A second attempt at the "Somewhat Cowl" sweater. This time with an alpaca that will hopefully drape better.
2) Still finishing up my own "You're Putting Me On Socks". Half way up the leg of sock #2, but bored.
3) Started in on a pair of socks for the boyfriend. Using the "You're Putting Me On Socks" pattern as a base, but adding a (k3, (p1, k1, p1)) rib on the instep and then around the cuff... so far looks real cool.
I got to get more pictures up... that will be my goal for the next day or two.

I saw this on the Max Studio website, and I'm in love.
I wish I could say I would knit something like this, but I'll most likely just buy it if I'm still obsessed over it in a month... :(

Not much on the knitting front lately. I really haven't found the time with work and running. I actually ripped out that skirt I was doing. When I had about 6 inches done, I realized this was gonna be one FORM-FITTING skirt. Rather than start up a ruckus at work, I decided adding another inch or so to the width wouldn't be a bad idea. But since I took it apart, I haven't started it back up again. :(
Knitting night is next Tuesday, gonna try to make it to this one this time...
